We know it's happening, but why? What is it about Texas that's drawing so many people away from other states? This article says good wages, low cost of living, no income tax, affordable housing, and available land are all reasons why people are moving to Texas. In this opinion piece in the New York Times, the author suggests that racial diversity, plenitful jobs, and lower climate risks are also part of the equation: "There are lots of places in America with jobs and lower climate risks or jobs and racial diversity, but if you want all three, Texas will take care of you best."
