The Properties
Looking at the top value properties for Portland, one thing stands out immediately -- multi-family properties are dominant in our ranking list. The top 7 are all multi-family. When compared with the whole of what's available in Portland at the moment, you get a lot for your money with a multi-family investment.
Our #1 property has a very large lot, 5 rental units, and 2 retails spaces. All this makes for a great value despite the $1.6 million price tag. The top single-family property also has a large lot and has several buildings at a much lower price, $499,000.
The Outlook for Portland, ME Real Estate
The New England area's 2022 outlook will be in line with the national forecast. Like the country generally, prices in New England will continue to increase but at a slower pace than 2021. Increases in mortgage rates and more inventory will prevent prices from getting too out of hand. However, Portland's prices are predicted to climb %10 on average, the highest predicted number in the country.
